So most of us saw the movie Jennifer's body, but most people didn't know the movie was based on a true story. I didn't know that until I saw a whole documentary on the situation and how this story was turned into a movie.
The film Jennifer's Body was released in 2009. Megan Fox played Jennifer, a high schooler who became possessed by a demon in a rock bank who performed bizarre rituals such as sacrificing her to a saint, but people have recently noticed that the plot of this film was very similar to a real-life situation.
There was a girl called Elyse Pahler who was murdered at the age of 15 years old. The case is very crazy with details that people say her parents loved her and said that she was a great child as she was sociable and independent. She was active in everything in her life, like sports, church chores and helping with the local theater as her dream was to be an actress, She had some experience with alcohol and got suspended because of her underage drinking as her parents got concerned and made her go to a recovery center due to the overuse of alcohol.
While time passes in the center she meets a boy who made her life turn into a horrible scary movie as the boy's name is Jacob Derashmatt which she got very close to, then she met his friend Joseph Dhurala and Royce Casey who they all knew each other from school but was expelled.
They are well known because they have a troubled background, as Jacob came from a religious family and was known for being an artist but had diseases. Together, they formed a band and called it "Hatred," as they were inspired by another band called "Slayer," as they had the signs of devil worshiping and entering a cult.
the book said that sacrificing a virgin to the devil can lead to a successful life, as they all agreed and chose the perfect victim, which was Elyse, as they assumed she was a virgin.
On July 2, 1995, the boys invited her to come to hang out with them, and they wanted to go to a cliff beside her house to smoke weed. She snuck out, and when she arrived, they were laughing and joking until she wasn't aware that Jacob pulled his belt off and strangled her from behind as Royce held her hands while she struggled. She passed out.
Her family called the police and reported her missing, but they believed she had run away and would return in a few days. Although the boys told two of their friends how proud they were of what they did to her, nobody believed them because of their background.
The case took a turn when only Royce began to change and became a full Christian, as he was afraid of his desire to kill again, and he was also afraid of becoming the next target of his friends, as the other two wanted to do this again for a saint. He went to the police, confessing everything that had happened.
The police reported that the knife wounds did not kill her as she died bleeding out, but the crazy thing is that this wasn't their first attempt to kill this girl as they all confessed to killing her and were sentenced to life in prison.
