What's Happening?
Hello, I am Farah, a girl from Egypt and I would like to recommend some Egyptian dishes that you need to try when you come to Egypt!
1. Molokhia
Finely chopped leaves of the Molokhia plant are mixed with the soup, topped with roasted garlic and often served on top of rice or pita bread pieces.
2. Koshary
The national cuisine of Egypt and a popular street meal. The meal is an Egyptian dish that blends Italian and Middle Eastern culinary components and dates back to the mid-nineteenth century. Koshary is a dish that combines rice, macaroni, and lentils, then tops it with a spiced tomato sauce and garlic vinegar, as well as chickpeas and crispy fried onions. It's frequently accompanied by a dusting of garlic juice
3. ًWaraa Enab
an Arab dish made of thinly sliced meat stacked in a cone form and cooked on a vertical rotisserie or spit that rotates slowly. Shawarma, which was originally prepared with lamb, mutton,, or chicken, may now be made with turkey, beef, or veal as well.
5. Foul & Falfal
A deep-fried ball consisting of ground chickpeas and fava beans is known as tamaya/falafel. Falafel spheres Wikimedia Commons is the source of this image. Foul (beans) is a meal consisting of sautéed fava beans and vegetable oil.
6. Om Ali
Phyllo dough or puff pastry, milk, and almonds make up this Egyptian delicacy. You may use any sort of nuts you like and consume it with a spoon. Om Ali is said to have been Sultan Ezz El Din Aybek's first bride.
7. Hamam (Pigeon)
This meal is one of the specialties of Egypt, where villages along the Nile River grow pigeons instead of Cornish chicken
8. Hawawshi
A classic Egyptian sandwich is the hawawshi. It comprises pita bread, a famous Middle Eastern bread, filled with ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and parsley preparation. Spices like cumin and paprika are used to flavor this combination, which may also contain chile.
9. Kabab and Kofta
Kebab is offered on the street or in kebab restaurants and is frequently served with pita, chopped salad, onions, and tahini sauce and kebab is typically prepared on skewers, whereas kofta is normally created by hand. Kofta can be cooked in curry or masala sauce on the stovetop.
10. Shakshoka
Eggs poached in a tomato, olive oil, peppers, onion, and garlic sauce, typically flavored with cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and nutmeg.
Ommmg these looks so good! I have tasted Shawerma and it is so good.

DeleteI haven't heard of most of these, but I am aware of Waraa Enab! I think it's Greek and they call it dolmas, and it's stuffed grape leaves with rice in it. It's sooo good! I have them all the time!

I loved Shawerma when I visited Egypt. There were so many flavours I could taste, it quickly became one of my favourites.
