What's Happening?
Well, it's an official announcement that Messi will leave Barcelona, the club is trying to make an agreement to make a new contract but it will not happen due to the Club's financial and obstacles that they are going through.
The club announced their gratitude for his contribution to this team for a while as they wish him the best in his future in both his personal and professional life, he joined the FC academy when he was just 13 years old, played more than 778 games, and scored 672 goals.
All people expected to renew the contract after finishing this summer but the announcement made a lot of people sad and disappointed about what happened, both parties wanted to reach an agreement but they couldn't.
A statement has been posted on their social media page and said:
Despite FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi having reached an agreement and the clear intention of both parties to sign a new contract today, this cannot happen because of financial and structural obstacles (Spanish Liga regulations).
As a result of this situation, Messi shall not be staying on at FC Barcelona. Both parties deeply regret that the wishes of the player and the club will ultimately not be fulfilled.
FC Barcelona wholeheartedly expresses its gratitude to the player for his contribution to the aggrandisement of the club and wishes him all the very best for the future in his personal and professional life
people are guessing which club like Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City would have the ability to match the salary demand that Messi wants, but Messi expressed his thoughts and said that he wanted to move back to his boyhood club Newell's Old Boys to finish his career.
