The comedian had announced that she will be under surgery soon due to a diagnosis of lung cancer, but the positive thing here is the doctors are optimistic about the surgery as they said she will be running in less than a month.

She posted on Twitter a picture quoting:

Ive got to tell you guys something. I have cancer, she stated and added, Im' about to get into surgery to have left of my lung removed, yes ive lung canceer even though ive never smoked! the doctors are very optemistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung. Hopefully no chemo or raddiation after this and i should have a normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less. it's been a hulluva 4 years, tryimg to get back to work. making you laugh and entertaining you, im gonna be just fine. Ofcourse i am fully vaccatined for Covid. The concequences for being unvaccinated would have been more serios. Please stay up to date on your medical checkups. It'll save your life. XXOO. KG

All celebrities tweeted and commented on her post wishing her to heal quickly, even tho she is weirded to have lung cancer without smoking, according to the US center stated that 10% and 20% of lung cancer cases occur in people who have not smoked.

    Given the amount of pollution we all breath in on a daily basis, the 10-20% seems kind of low

    I wish Kathy Griffin all the best with her treatment and recovery. Cancer is an awful thing to go through no matter what the stage it's at. Thanks for sharing.

    I haven't heard anything about her in such a long time. I didn't realise she was ill. I hope all goes well with the surgery!
